Abstract :
The HS-DSCH uses multicodes and 16 QAM modulation to achieve high throughput for high capability mobiles. Passing through a frequency selective channel, the MAI arises due to the orthogonality loss between spreading codes. The advanced receivers in mobiles are needed to mitigate these interferences. Realistic perlormance of future HSDPA "14,4 Mbps" mobiles are shown in this paper. A new kind of simulation method, based on existing drive test measurements, is used. The measurements are combined to link level simulation results for different linear receivers to obtain reliable performance estimation. Simulation results show that using the rake receiver the throughput does not exceed 3Mbps. However, introducing the LMMSE it can reach 6Mbps with a single receiver antenna. It can be up to 8 Mbps lor the Rx diversity case.
