Abstract :
In this paper we present the experimental characterization of a new electro-optic device based on poled fibres. Passive characterization, as well as φ voltage measurement are included in this paper followed by the experimental demonstration of the device as an electro-optic modulator of 30 MHz bandwidth and as an optical switch, allowing digital transmission up to 40 Gb/s.
