Abstract :
A spatially variant B-spline interpolation function is proposed to reduce the blurring appearances caused by the conventional cubic B-spline interpolation function and enhance the local edges that are little considered in the previous methods. We also consider the local characteristics-the difference level between smooth regions and edges and then interpolate the image using the proposed function that is represented by a parametric expression. The proposed function provides the smoothing effects at the smooth regions and adaptively edge-enhanced simulation results compared to another interpolation methods
