Abstract :
Base on the interactive operating speed design idea, the road plane, vertical, cross section and operating speed interactive linkage is realized by using the multi-window linkage technology. Safety audit and route selection are integrated in this paper. Safety audit is done by using operating speed calculation model that recommended by “Guidelines for Safety Audit of Highway” while designing the road plane, vertical and cross section. The operating speed of vehicle running in the design alignment is simulated by using three-dimensional simulation in order to check the road safety. Driving simulation can also be done by using joystick or keyboard and its data can be record and used for further road safety analysis, pavement damage analysis, and so on. A system based on above techniques and methods is developed and successfully applied to road design.
