Abstract :
This paper develops a new set-up and procedure for obtaining and verifying the real CDM ESD waveform from MR heads. Data shows that previously reported double peaks are an anomaly of the set-up and procedure. The new set-up separates (in terms of location) the paddle-board from the suspension and uses a thin dielectric to avoid arc-over to the metallic suspension. This will allow for the proper development of a CDM standard for MR heads.
