Abstract
The approach proposed is based on the use of an interactive genetic algorithm (IGA) (H. Takagi, 1998). A genetic algorithm is used to perform a global search in the solution space. We compare IGA to traditional numerical inversion on a geological application. We show that `a priori´ information and expert knowledge can overcome lack of accurate data and help convergence towards a satisfactory solution
