Abstract :
A modified version of a quasi-self-complementary antenna, constructed in a leather substrate for ultra wideband applications, is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna, without using a matching circuit, can operate in an ultra-wide 10 dB impedance bandwidth. Featuring a very small and compact size on a leather substrate, this antenna can operate in a specific UWB range for on-body communications. Measured and simulated performance (Radiation Pattern and Return Loss) was checked and a very good agreement was achieved. Previously, FR-4 substrate was used which is solid and cannot be bent .In here leather-flexible and wearable- substrate is used as it will be very useful for on-body communications. In addition, this antenna can be used on human wrist so that the size of the antenna is reduced to 1/3 of the previous system. Moreover, As we know that the operating frequency of lower WLAN (5.15-5.35 GHz) band and the upper WLAN (5.725-5.825 GHz), so we are concentrating on a antenna system which can operate from 6 GHz to 10.6 GHz, avoiding the WLAN frequency range.
