Abstract
The electromagnetic stress inside EMP-excited enclosures with an inner wire and walls realized by aluminum or carbon fiber composite panels, protected or not by metallic paint, is predicted by using a finite-difference time-domain based procedure. The analysis is performed considering different box configurations, in order to assess the influence of the enclosure dimensions and wall composition on the amplitude, rise- and fall-time of the inner electric and magnetic fields and of the induced current in the wire
