Abstract
The High Altitude Long Operation (HALO) network is a broadband wireless metropolitan area network whose solitary hub is located in the stratosphere above the service area. One of several possible architectures of the HALO network and the corresponding system reference model are presented in this paper. A simulation model was developed for the chosen architecture. Several experiments were performed upon it under various traffic conditions to model the performance of the network
