Abstract
In this paper, we have as our objective to use the theory of an electric power system (EPS). Specifically when the EPS is on fault condition (the eleven types). This study has as importance the states of a fault on a computational angle of automata. It is applied to get better digital devices protection algorithms, in special that one that is adapted to the rule IEC 61850
