Abstract :
Under the conditions of partial shadow, there will be multi-peak phenomenon in the characteristic curve of photovoltaic array, which will greatly influence the control and tracking of the maximum power. A Simscape simulation model of a photovoltaic array is described in the article. It is used for the research of the electrical and optical characteristic curve under the conditions of the partial shadow. Uniform shadow and gradient shadow are simulated to analyze the maximum output power of local, global and distributed peak-value tracking algorithms. The result of simulation demonstrates that the power output can be greatly increased by the distributed peak-value tracking algorithms when the contrast of the shadow is relatively big.
