  • Abstract
A fault detection method with antennas has been developed and compared with conventional methods such as the Murry loop bridge and the pulse method. The method was applied to communication wire (surge impedance 50 ohms) with an artificial fault using metal electrode systems, and an artificial void as breakdown and/or degradation. The results showed that the detecting distance precision was of the order of meters
