Abstract
Encouraging minority students to pursue college degrees and employment in math, science, and engineering is essential for maintaining the quality and diversity of the American workforce. The goal of the National Society of Black Engineers Community Outreach Program at Lehigh University is to help minority teenage students develop the intellectual ability, motivation, and skills needed to succeed in school and their future careers. It is also designed to give college students an opportunity to build leadership, communication and design skills by mentoring teenage students and leading educational activities.
