  • Abstract
This paper deals with the problems, concerning the determination of the position of a real camera in a virtual studio. The determination of the real camera position is a necessary condition for its right function, because it allows the correct composition of the animated background. After an introduction into the function and problems of the virtual studio, the systems for the determination of the camera position are described. Then very perspective systems based on pattern recognition are discussed, and some algorithms of the camera position determination are shown. Because the systems are very expensive, the emphasis in further work will lay on evaluation of the necessary precision of camera position determination.
