Abstract :
Vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) and large core optical fiber make possible the low cost and high performance optical interconnection solution. We discuss a a new graphic interface solution using a VCSEL array, named "Optiface/sup TM/". Optiface/sup TM/ has the advantages of "supporting high resolution", "long distance connection" and "no cable EMI". We describe the details of the Optiface/sup TM/ and the characteristics of VCSELs for it.
