Summary form only given. This in-line Nd:YAG laser resonator, that presents the advantage of being simple to implement experimentally, compensates for intracavity phase aberrations, demonstrates greater than unity reflectivities and produces self-Q-switching using an YAG:Cr/sup 4+/ saturable absorber.
