Abstract
This paper presents a new Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) with an ecological aspect (EDAS). A low fuel consumption problem is formulated coupled to a safety problem (longitudinal spacing). Several discussions are conducted concerning the computational time reduction, the choice of an optimization method by comparisons. A fuzzy controller is developed to introduce some safety margins that are integrated in the optimization of the fuel consumption. The simulation results are analyzed to show the consistency of our different choices of the methods and strategies.
