Abstract :
In the present work, a report on the synthesis of nano sized γ-AlxFe2-xO3 [0.07 ≤ x < 1] by wet chemical method and its suspension in a cellulose containing water is presented. X-ray diffraction patterns, transmission electron microscopy, Mossbauer spectra and magnetic measurements of samples have been taken. The cell viability has been determined by SRB assay. The biocompatibility of the suspensions have been tested with HeLa cells. Results show that the size of the synthesized nanomaterials are found in the range of 10-30 nm. The nano sized γ-Al0.07Fe1.97O3 has been successfully suspended in water containing cellulose which shows a good degree of biocompatibility. This kind of suspension can be used for hyperthermia treatment of cancer or drug delivery among others.
