  • Abstract
Healthy emotional intelligence (EI) is key to success for an effective leader whether in organization, industry or politics. Healthy EI also contributes to personality development and have positive effects on other health related factors. The aim of current research is to gauge the impact of healthy EI on effective leadership. TEIQUe instrument is used to survey project leaders from technical organizations. Effective and successful leaders have a higher ranked healthy emotional intelligence. The research predicts positive relation between healthy EI and effective leadership. Analysis has also been done on various demographic data and it also verifies the hypothesis. Only 26% of variance in effective leadership has been significantly explained by the emotional intelligence but 74% is still unexplained. It implies that there are some more variables vital in explaining effective leadership. The area of research is limited to the leadership in technical organizations only.
