Abstract
Neuromorphic systems are inspired by the structure, function and plasticity of biological nervous systems . This field is evolving a new era in computing with a great promise for future medicine, healthcare delivery and industry . The paper focuses on the introduction of neuromorphic engineering. It describes the history of neuromorphic engineering and the process of developing neuromorphic chip, and then introduces the required hardware and AER (Address Event Representation) tools for morphed on silicon. Finally it summarizes the applications of neuromorphic engineering based on neuromorphic chip. It is shown that the neuromorphic engineering has a promising development.
