Abstract
In-network processing has been proven as one of the most energy efficient query processing paradigm for wireless sensor networks, where the processing is done inside the sensor network close to the source of data generation. This paper studies the techniques used to manage and process the queries in wireless sensor networks using the in-network processing paradigm. The techniques have been divided into two sub categories of aggregation based techniques and approximation based techniques.
