  • Abstract
An estimate of the phase shift of a spin waves was made. Torque equations can be constructed for spin-wave excitations traveling along the chain assuming a simple 180° domain wall along a chain of spins as a ground state. Whereas exact solutions for traveling and bound states can be obtained for this geometry, a WKB approximation provides a physically intuitive estimate of the phase shift introduced in the spin wave upon traversing the wall.
