Abstract :
Manganese sulfide (MnS2) and Hg-doped manganese sulfide (Hg0.95Mn0.05)S nanostructures have been synthesized successfully by Solvent-Wet chemical method. The yields of the products are appreciable due to their less solubility at low temperature. Because of this advantage the above method was preferred. The MnS2 and Hg-MnS2 crystals were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform -infrared spectroscopy (FT- IR), UV-Visible spectroscopy and Inductively coupled plasma with mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) techniques. The presence of Hg as dopent was confirmed by ICP-MS.
