Abstract
Permalloy (Py) structures were fabricated sitting on a current-carrying conductor to investigate domain evolution. The domains were imaged at the remanent states by magnetic force microscopy (MFM). Results show domain transitions from strip to multi-domain configurations. Detailed domain changes with step-by-step increase of the current are discussed in relation to the dominance of magnetic energy terms. The effect of size difference is also presented.
