Abstract :
In the paper “Predictive torque control of induction machines based on state-space models” by Miranda et al. (IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron., vol. 56, no. 6, pp. 1916-1924, Jun. 2009), a discrete-time model for an induction machine with time-varying components was proposed to improve the accuracy of the model predictive control strategy. In this letter, we clarify that the sampled model proposed by Miranda et al. is not exact, but rather an accurate approximation. Finally, its accuracy is analyzed and compared to using the simple Euler discretization.
