Abstract :
In this paper we present an idea for guaranteed performance in real time video communication with error resiliency. The idea carries three main concepts called connection establishment with user defined performance parameters, back pressure re-routing and error resiliency by feedback control. The performance parameters we consider here are time delay and bandwidth. Establishing a connection that gives user a guaranteed performance is achieved by making tests at the intermediate nodes while making a virtual circuit to ensure that the nodes are capable of giving required performance. The backpressure re-routing will take care of making new paths for the video packets when any of the nodes in existing path is no more able to perform with required parameters values. Finally the two-way communication over the same channel is used for the feedback based error control to effectively maintain the visual quality at the receiving end.
