Abstract
This paper proposes to utilize the auxiliary resonant commutated pole matrix converter as a three-phase rectifier. The function of the new quasi-resonant rectifier is analyzed and simulation results are presented to verify the analysis. The rectifier is designed for an industrial DC drive and the losses are compared to a hard switching AC-to-DC-matrix rectifier
