Abstract :
The fractal property of the clutter series is studied briefly by means of the power spectrum, correlation function and scalar dual logarithm relationship analyses. The time-variant surface is proposed to describe the local dynamic characteristics of the scattered surface, and the time-domain fractal property of the scattered field from an actual surface is analysed qualitatively with Kirchhoff´s solution under three rational assumptions on electromagnetic scattering. Finally, the random fractal model for the clutter is deduced, and the amplitude distribution, power spectrum and parameter property are discussed in brief. Both the theoretical deduction and the analysis on real-life data demonstrate that the clutter approximates random fractal signals, and the random fractal model is valid for the clutter modeling
