Abstract :
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image formation using an L1 norm minimization approach is discussed. The use of algorithms such as the Polar Format Algorithm with L1 norm minimization combines the advantages of a far field scattering assumption with the additional capabilities of gap filling, inherent sidelobe mitigation, and feature decomposition. This paper presents some of the ongoing work at Integrity Applications Incorporated in the area of advanced SAR image formation in which focuses on a properly posed forward operator, the implicit implementation of which facilities processing very large datasets with an even larger number of unknowns.
