Abstract

This paper discusses an application which has been developed to enable the transmission of cardiovascular image sequences to a remote site, co-operative viewing and discussion of clinical cases between the two centres using audio and video-conferencing, and simultaneous review and annotation of the image sequences. This system uses open standards such as DICOM, TCP/IP and ISDN to facilitate integration with existing systems and hospital equipment. These developments are being carried out within the European Community funded project: TeleRegions Sun-Tele-Applications for European Regions
