Abstract
This paper presents a new technique for the identification of repeated segments in video sequences. The method relies on the fast extraction of compact binary frame descriptors from video sequences, followed by the processing of one or more distance matrices for the detection of the repeated segments. The technique has applications both in desktop computers and AV consumer electronics, e.g. for de-duplicating video databases or searching for videos with common scenes.
