Abstract :
We propose a calibration algorithm for an array antenna suitable to DTV beamforming receivers in the presence of unknown gain and phase errors. The proposed algorithm is based on the subspace method which does not require a prior knowledge of the direction of arrivals (DOAs) of multipath signals. The calibration algorithm provides us with estimates of the DOAs of multipaths as well as the calibration of the antenna gain and phase. Since the proposed algorithm can be processed by using the intermediate frequency signal, the calibration can be done before the beamforming and synchronization. To demonstrate our proposed scheme, we built a DTV beamforming receiver equipped with a synchronizer and equalizer.
