  • Abstract
This paper describes the findings of research on automated rubber seed clones identification using reflectance sensors and FPGA. The main objective of this project is to create an intelligent detector using simple sensors interfaced with Altera DE2 application board. In order to measure the average voltage level that can represent any rubber seed clone, the sensor used the amount of reflected light from the seed surface as the sensing variable. Five types of clone are used as samples with three reflectance sensors installed on the model to send various values of data to the application board. Analysis of the measured average ADC value that is converted from the wavelength of light reflectance is done statistically. Results of findings have shown that there is evidence where reflectance light from surface of the rubber seed can be used to classify selected types of rubber tree clone.
