  • Abstract
    We propose a new coding mode for H.264/AVC, called advanced B skip mode. In this mode, the motion vector was predicted by motion estimation between reference frames, and the accuracy of the vector was greatly improved compared with that of conventional B skip mode. The simulation results show an average bitrate reduction of 4.79% and a bitrate reduction of up to 9.89%.
