Abstract :
Describes a method for making electrocardiographic (EKG) diagnoses in which the authors statistically compare the digital data that compose and individual patient´s EKG with composite EKGs. The latter consist of averages for each interval of sampling of the voltages of groups of patients with and without a particular disease. Using voltages recorded by Lead AVF, the authors tested this method on 2 groups of patients: 66 normals and 55 patients with angiographic evidence of healed inferior MI. Particularly when applied to voltages recorded during the early portions of the QRS complexes, the method discriminated well between both groups
