  • Abstract
Summary form only given. We investigated high-repetition rate mode-locked operation of a Ti:sapphire laser with SBR. The mode-locked laser setup using a semiconductor saturable Bragg reflector as a saturable absorber is shown. The cavity geometry is designed for high-repetition rate mode-locking pulse generation. We obtained self starting 10.3-ps pulses at a 1.02-GHz repetition rate with 640-mW output power. Autocorrelation traces are shown before and after external dispersion compensation. A pulsewidth as short as 1.6 ps has been obtained after external dispersion compensation.
