Abstract :
Summary form only given. The first measurements of the true residual single-sideband (SSB) phase noise of an externally modulated fiber-optic link at microwave frequencies without electronic amplification are presented. The measurement is made possible by using high-power photodetectors in the link. The fiber-optic link and measurement setup are given.
