Abstract
Summary form only given. Spatially inhomogeneous optical intensity patterns are created when two mutually coherent optical fields interfere inside photoconductive semiconductors with a finite intersection angle. Diffusion of photo-generated free-charge carriers ensues due to the nonzero concentration gradient, resulting in the formation of an internal space charge electric field. This paper shows the experimental results for an optical spectrum analyzer based on such a moving space charge field in a photoconductive CdTe:V:Mn sample.
