Abstract :
The design of a taper slotted low profile Vivaldi antenna for array-based ultra-wideband near field imaging is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna with dimensions of 140*90*1 mm*mm*mm achieves satisfactory impedance matching and radiation across the frequency band from 1 to 8GHz with more than 8 octaves. The gain of the antenna is from 4.52 to 10.04 dBi. A prototype of the simulated antenna is fabricated and experimentally studied as well. The measured results show reasonable agreement with the simulated ones.
