  • Abstract
    Summary form only given. The new F/sub 2//sup +/ color centers (i.e., F/sub 2//sup +/*), which are F/sub 2//sup +/ centers modified by association with OH/sup -/-Mg/sup 2+/ impurity complex are proposed to obtain simultaneously photo- and thermostability of F/sub 2//sup +/ centers in LiF crystals. The crystal with F/sub 2//sup +/-OH/sup -/Mg/sup 2+/ centers was investigated at room temperature to study absorption, luminescent, and lasing parameters. The active elements were 50-mm length and have a 2.6-cm/sup -1/ absorption coefficient of F/sub 2//sup +/* color centers at maximum of absorption band.
