Abstract
Summary form only given. The combination of SRS in gases with four-wave mixing based on scattering of the Stokes wave on the phonon wave excitation contributed to a significant frequency shift in gases. For example, using 1.053-/spl mu/m radiation we could reach after the double Raman shift, the high-efficiency conversion to 8 /spl mu/m band for 300 mJ Stokes pulses.
