Abstract
Developments regarding a technique of analysis of complex waveguides previously proposed by the authors (1989) are presented. Waveguides having complicated cross-sectional geometry and comprising circularly cylindrical ferrite-dielectric rods magnetized in a longitudinal direction can be analyzed. This class of waveguides includes rectangular waveguides loaded with ferrite rods. Also presented are experimental data validating the theory, as well as examples of potentially useful structures which can be treated by this method (e.g. ferrite loaded waveguides of cross-rectangular and finned-circular cross sections). The inner products encountered in the method are computed via FFT, resulting in a three-fold increase of computational speed and a two-fold reduction of computer storage.<>
