Abstract
Summary form only given. CW light from an external-cavity laser at 1.55 /spl mu/m was passed through an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) and injected into a DFB slave laser. The strong phase noise reduction due to the injection was demonstrated by direct comparison of the observed beat notes with the slave laser natural linewidth.
