Abstract
Summary form only given. We present an experimental investigation of light-induced director axis reorientation in dye-doped surface-stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystals (SSFLCs) by means of the two-wavelength and pump-probe measurement. A large improvement in sensitivity and response speed of the light-induced director axis reorientation, compared with undoped SSFLCs, is demonstrated. We also perform image processing using the dye-doped SSFLCs as a spatial filters.
