Abstract
Summary form only given. Here we have studied the second-order nonlinear optical properties of amorphous Si-SiO/sub 2/ MQW with use of second-harmonic generation (SHG). The anisotropic characteristics of the quadratic response as well as the influence of the applied dc electric field on the SHG intensity are investigated for this type of MQW.
