Abstract
A complete nonlinear analysis of the chirping of a single-sideband mode-locked laser is presented. The analysis shows how the optical frequency of a single-sideband mode-locked laser can depend upon the operating conditions. For the homogeneously broadened laser studied, the performance can be enhanced by increasing the modulation level. The optical frequency shift is very sensitive to the frequency tuning of the oscillator
