Abstract :
A 40 watt CW, PPM focused helix type TWT operating at 44 GHz, was developed by Varian for use in Satellite Communication Systems. The tube´s electro-mechanical design was chosen to feature: high reliability; excellent beam focusing and circuit thermal capability; a highly stable device free of any oscillations; and rf performance characteristics to meet or exceed the system requirements.
