Abstract :
A wavelength assignment algorithm is proposed to mitigate the impact of cross-phase modulation on the loss probability of path requests in WDM networks. The novel scheme is compared with recently proposed impairment-aware strict first-fit (FF) algorithms, and its benefits are confirmed by simulations on WDM rings under distinct network scenarios.
