Abstract :
ITU-T is the only international, intergovernmental standards organization. The challenges it faces today are to extend the benefits of the information society to all regardless of income or disability. It must help the ICT industry to become environmentally responsible and accountable, and it must provide stewardship for the creation of global standards for next-generation networks that will bring seamless interconnectivity between all types of networks and devices. This article provides a snapshot of ITU-T activities and an idea of strategic direction.
