Abstract
An EM-based algorithm is introduced for decoding space-time trellis codes without assuming channel knowledge. Its complexity is much smaller than a direct evaluation of the log-likelihood function, and simulation results indicate the receiver achieves a performance close to that of a receiver that knows the channel perfectly
